About
Yellow Cow Korean BBQ Restaurant is a hidden gem located in Gardena, CA, offering a wide array of Korean BBQ delicacies. The restaurant prides itself on its high-quality grilled meats, extensive side dishes, and authentic Korean flavors.
As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of tasting some of Yellow Cow's signature dishes, such as the Beef Rib Eye, Bulgogi, and Grilled Duck. Each dish came with steamed rice, 6 side dishes, and a refreshing salad, providing a well-rounded and satisfying dining experience.
What sets Yellow Cow apart is its attention to detail, from the marination of the meats to the freshness of the banchan (side dishes). The Japchae Noodles, Mandoo (Fried Dumplings), and Seafood Green Onion Pancake were also standout appetizers that left me craving for more.
The cozy and homely ambiance at Yellow Cow, along with their attentive and knowledgeable staff, made for a delightful dining experience. Whether you are a fan of Korean cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, Yellow Cow Korean BBQ Restaurant is a must-visit destination. Remember to make a reservation, especially on weekends, to avoid long wait times and ensure a memorable dining experience.
“ Came by on a Friday night and it was very busy! Food was so good! Meat quality was great and so tender! Side dishes were also so amazing and it is authentic Korean foods my mom would make at home. Ordered the #1 Combo for two people and it was a more than enough for us. Chose chadolbagi and kkotsal :) Came with a choice of stew and steamed egg and salad. Super satisfied and will be coming back again! Make sure to make a reservation on weekends because we did not know they had that option and waited about an hour on the walk-in waitlist. ”
“ A Korean friend of mine in Seoul emailed me about this place and since it's Lunar New Year weekend, we're here for dinner and check the place out. 1st of all, the place is small but cozy, homie and clean. Our server is wonderful, friendly, helpful and known the menu well. I ordered rib eyes, pork belly, bacon fried rice and fried dumplings. Simply delicious - our waiter cooked the meats for us, one at a time at the table. First the beef (fresh, tender and juicy), then the pork belly with grilled kimchi, just hit all the right spots, especially with the salt/ sesame dipping sauce. Plenty of side dishes which are delightful and perfect accompanied the meats. The bacon fried rice is just perfect, salty but not that salty and l balance well with sliced garlics over the hot stone. As for the costs, I think it fitted perfectly for the dishes portion. Overall, the meals were perfectly fit to start the Lunar New Year for us with a bottle of beer. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes. Shoutout to our waiter, he's the best we ever had (and so far this year) . ”
“ The kbbq here is decent. The combos give you a lot of choices for 2-4 meat combos along with the steamed egg and choice of soup and drinks. This is not ayce. The staff was very attentive and came around check and cook for us often. The banchan was slightly different than the ones I'm use to. The usual kimchi, potato salad, soybean sprouts and salad were there, but there were some other interesting dishes like a lotus root dish and dried seaweed. The meat we got was good, the ribeye was tender, the bulgogi and spicy bulgogi were also good. The octopus and shrimp was pretty good. Parking here is very bad as theres lots of restaurants and fast food here and not enough parking. ”
“ Fantastic Korean staples, the cuts of meat are very high quality and perfectly marinated and cooked. The banchan are freshly made and absolutely delicious, perfect complements to the meal. Didn't try the soups/stews, but I've heard they're also excellent. Service was outstanding as well, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Cool old-school decor ambiance. Exceptional traditional Korean food, highly recommend! ”
“ Treated my mom out for her birthday to this place. I loved the banchan set that they gave us! They had the usual banchan that we all love like kimchi and potato salad, but I especially love the tomato banchan. We also loved the seafood pancake! It was crispy and tasty. This was the perfect spot to satisfy my korean food cravings. ”
“ Came here with a party of 4 on Sunday evening. We called ahead to make a reservation and I was so happy we did as the place was PACKED! There's a lot of different restaurants in the plaza so parking was a little difficult. We definitely got lucky and got a spot right away as there were a few cars leaving when we got there. The food itself was pretty good. My friends said the quality of the meats were good. I can't really taste the difference (unless it's really good or really bad) and the banchan to me was okay. They were hit or miss for me personally. Still, I would come back as the servers were nice and quick! ”
“ There is nothing I would change with the 2 protein meal combination I had in Yellow Cow today. Everything about it was so good, I'm so happy that by chance we picked this place to have lunch today. Originally we simply wanted Beef brisket Korean bbq - everyone knows that is the most generic type of Korean bbq but that's truly all we wanted. Now to order it ala cart would have cost us $40 and it comes with nothing. But what is Korean bbq without Ban Chan - so we would have had to add that etc etc etc. so for choosing 2 meats that comes with ban chan, that is, by the way, one of best varieties I have had, a choice of one of their 3 soups (we got kimchi soup - very delicious), steamed egg, rice paper - and your choice of soda or soju for 2 - you pay $115. I know it sounds pricey but it was so worth it. For our second meat we got "short ribs" which apparently is premium so I had to add $7 - still worth it. Total for 2 people with tip was about $150. I know it's a lot, but it not only filled us, it was so satisfying and we were both very impressed with quality of their food and service. The price can be prohibitive but for a special occasion it's worth pulling out some money from your piggy bank. It's nothing from outside - it's in a strip mall right off Redondo Beach Blvd with a billiard hall, tea room, etc. you really have to look because it doesn't stand out, - but when you enter, it's pretty and clean and relaxed. I really like this place. Parking lot is a good size which makes it easy. ”
“ Tucked away in a plaza, yellow cow is a cozy kbbq spot (not AYCE) with quality meats and a wide variety of banchan. We came on a Monday night and there was no wait. It's nice that they do take reservations if you call beforehand. We were seated immediately and got the family combo for 3 of us. Family combo was $195 and came with 3 meats, egg, soup, rice paper/radish, and 1 soju. Service was super attentive and cooked all of our meats to perfection. Banchan was so fresh and apparently it's seasonal so it changes. The meats tasted high quality and marbling looked really nice. We didn't have to wave them down to ask for more items or refills because they were on top of it. We got: Brisket (5/5) tasted fresh and cooked with some char Black pork belly (5/5) so good with the more fermented kimchi that he grilled with it. This was an extra $5 since it's a premium meat Galbi (5/5) marinated well and was so tender. Extra $7 At first I thought they forgot our soup, but turns out they bring it to us at the end when we were so full. We chose the intestine soup since it sounded interesting and it was a massive bowl. We ended up having to take it home. Not sure if I'd order it separately again. Overall, it was a bit pricey but we were definitely satisfied with the quality. I'll come back for the cod and other entree items next time since I heard the chef is from culinary class wars! ”
“ It's been sometime since we've eaten at Yellow Cow. We were so early, the place was almost empty except for a couple of older gentleman and what looked to be a team dinner. The food was delicious. The soju was cold. My favorite servers were working. It was a good day. My only new observation is that the banchan came in a new serving tray, organized in a Hollywood Squares meets Brady Bunch offering. Each square holds a unique banchan. Some banchan is more to my liking than others. My least favorite was the middle square in the first column. Poor "Jan"! My favorite square was the potato salad. Arrive early or late if you don't want to wait. Before 6 or after 8ish. Enjoy! ”
“ As a KBBQ lover, this spot completely won me over! The beautifully marbled meats were so tender and packed with flavor, but the real star of the meal was the marinated crab. It was rich, savory, and absolutely worth braving traffic to get here. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, keeping our grill in perfect shape and making the whole experience even better with their warm hospitality. And the side dishes were absolutely incredible! I've never seen them presented like this before, and every single one was so delicious that I couldn't leave without grabbing a take-out box to enjoy them at home. This place truly delivers on all fronts! ”
